Wiyaala wins Most Promising Artiste award at the All Africa Music Awards
The All Africa Music awards was held at the Grand Oriental Ballroom, Victoria Island in Lagos on Saturday.
Ghana’s very own Wiyaala took home two awards that night. Awards include the Most Promising Artiste award, and also the Revelation of the African Continent award. She really made Ghana proud as she won these two coveted 23.9 gold plated trophies.
We are happy for here, but the sad fact is that shes rather receiving more recognition from around Africa, than her motherland Ghana.
She also performed that night, and it seems there are more trophies coming her way.
The Upper West songstress has bounced back in style and has ended the year with a string of awards and citations including Face of Pepsi Ghana, Converse All Stars Brand Ambassador for Ghana, the Youth Achievers Award of the Upper West, Female Personality of the Year at the Sissala Prestige Awards, Music Ambassador for the Upper West and for being the Indomie Kid’s Music Icon of the year besides Saturday’s Afrima Pan-African accolades.
In her acceptance speech, Wiyaala said that she hoped that her success would serve as an example to her community in the Upper West that there was a future for young women beyond an early forced marriage which can lead to independence and self-fulfillment.
Well sure, her success will surely serve as an example for women beyond her hometown and Ghana. Bro Philemon, another Ghanaian also took an award home that night.
