The National Sports Authority has slapped a GH¢ 5,000 fine on producers of Adonko bitters for breach of contract during last Monday’s “Adonko Aseda Bash” held at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
As a result, the Regional Director of Sports of the National Sports Authority, Mr Richard Iddrisu Ewuntomah, has confirmed that officials have impounded vehicles and other equipment of the company and will only release them if the fine is settled.
According to him, organizers per an earlier agreement were not supposed to allow fans into the inner perimeter but this was breached causing an extensive destruction to the green grass on the pitch.
The fine is therefore meant to cater for the maintenance of the pitch for sporting and other football activities in the wake of a directive banning activities which are not sporting related at the stadium.
Last Monday night was an all boozing night for some youth who trooped to the stadium to witness performances of Shata Wale, Flowking Stone, Ofori Amponsah, Agya Koo, Bisa Kdei among others who headlined the Adonko Aseda Bash.
Enticed by GH¢10 gate fee which entitled each person to bottle of Adonko liquor, many never returned home the same as some patrons drunk themselves to stupor and virtually had to spend the night on the green grass of the football pitch.
Even in their unconscious state, some were not willing to allow go the empty bottle of “Adonko Bitters” after quaffing the contents.
According to information gathered by mynewsgh.com entertainment desk, the senses of the youth mostly students who were on holidays for the Easter festivities were knocked off by uncontrolled ‘dosage’ of the popular Adonko Bitters.
