“Me Versus Me”: Ireti Doyle shares why upcoming Ice Prince biopic is a special project

"Me Versus Me," an Ice Prince Zamani's biographical film, is special to Ireti Doyle for many reasons.

The upcoming Ice Prince Zamani biopic, Me Versus Me,” features Ireti Doyle as Panshak.

Doyle took to her Instagram page to share why the upcoming biographical motion picture of the Nigerian rapper is special to her.

A project which took her back to her past, “Me versus Me” has been described by the veteran as a biopic told with simple honesty that will inspire one to dream, and give insight into the man Zamani has become.

Read Ireti Doyle’s Instagram post below;

“Soooo… this particular adventure took me down my past, waaaay back, to the city of my youth, where it all began… #Jos.
This ‘Jos thing’? … it’s real.

#MevsMetheMovie is special for many reasons, most tend to shy away from stories of “humble beginnings,”not @iceprincezamani. In this biopic a young boy’s journey to self is told with a simple honesty and poignancy that will tug at the heart, inspire one to dream, and give some insight into the man and creative phenomenon that he has become.”

Doyle also commended  her “Tinsel” co-star, Gbenro Ajibade, who is making his directorial debut with the biopic.

“And, in every production there is the ‘big revelation’, someone who completely blows your mind and surpasses all expectations. For me, on this ride, that person was @gbenroajibade. Let me put it this way, if you think you know this man’s creative measure, you are wrong.

This project will present him in a light and capacity rarely seen. It was a delight to watch that crazy mind shift gears and deal with every logistic or artistic situation as it presented itself with a tenacity and single-mindedness of purpose that is ferocious. I say it again, well done Bro. I am so proud!!

As for this beautiful town, I find that I need more time with her, to walk these streets, visit those places and the people who are here, where it all began.”

In 2016, Ice Prince spoke with Pulse Nigeria about the movie, which he said will make its debut this 2017.

“Me versus Me” is written by Ajibade and George Kura, who wrote the TV series “Duplicity.

“Me Versus Me” will not be Zamani’s first participation in a movie. He made his acting debut in the 2013 Ghana and Nigeria collaboration, “House of Gold,”  which was directed by Pascal Amanfo and produced by Yvonne Nelson.
