The winger says he still holds a dream of playing in the English topflight
Ghana international Frank Acheampong has disclosed that he is open to moving to England, insisting it has always been his dream to play in the English Premier League.
Acheampong enjoyed a successful 2016/17 season, playing a key role in Anderlecht’s romp to the Belgium title.
The 23-year-old has already spent four years with the Belgian giants and has made over 100 appearances across all competitions.
The former Berekum Chelsea player was the subject of a bid from Hull City last season, however, Anderlecht opted to keep him.
Acheampong believes a future move to the English topflight could still be on the cards, adding that it will be a dream to see it happen.
“It’s everybody’s dream to play in the English Premier League,” Acheampong is quoted as saying by the BBC.
He added that: “We are just working on it and let’s pray that I get what I want. It’s my dream, it’s my first priority.
“When the [Hull City] move was blocked, I tried to contact the big men at the club, but it was in vain, so I just accepted it and worked to make Anderlecht champions.
“A few clubs in England have been in touch but I cannot say anything right now.”
Frank Acheampong has been a part of the Black Stars set-up since 2013, and will be hoping that his next move enhances his chances of nailing down a place in the starting line-up.
