As much as every event thrives on sponsorships for survival in terms of money and other forms of packages, gospel diva Ceccy Twum thinks not all sponsorships should be allowed to support gospel events. She made this assertion on the Gospel Count Down show on Atinka TV.
She admits the fact that corporate bodies don’t give them the necessary attention due to so many factors best known to them. But she made it clear that, they will not also go for just any sponsorship deals from any company because they need it badly. When the host of the show, Sammy Flex asked of her acceptance of any sponsorship deal from an alcoholic beverage company, she responded in the negative.
According to the gospel artiste, they can’t ask the same people they are preaching to, to go for alcoholic beverage and other things that don’t conform to the teachings of the bible, hence the difficulty to get sponsors for their programs.
She also accepted the fact that some gospel musicians don’t brand themselves well, hence their inability to attract the corporate world. Though there are some who have built a good brand for themselves over the years. Meanwhile, the gospel songstress has pleaded with people who throw insults at her for her make-up and style of dressing to be circumspect about it because she is not what they think she is.
She also advised gospel artistes to keep their marriages away from social media and other public platforms to prevent it from dissolving.
