The police in Ashanti Region have arrested nine (9) suspects in connection with the murder of the late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama including a 12-year-old boy.

In all,  the suspects include six males and three females, she said.

The rest were arrested on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Manso Konuase and Mannso Nkran in the same district.

It is not clear the role the 12 year old boy played in the murder of the late captain, but ASP Juliana Obeng said the nine suspects will be handed over to the Central Regional Police Command for further investigations.

The late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama was with the 5th Infantry Battalion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra.  He was the detachment commander of the Ghana Armed Forces undertaking operational duties in the Upper Denkyira West District in the Central region.

He was lynched by a mob at Denkyira-Obuasi on March 29, 2017 while jogging when residents mistook him for an armed robber when a woman he bought snails from saw a pistol on and therefore raised alarm leading to the unfortunate incident.
